We're definitely going to make another one!
"This new Resident Evil: Afterlife is the first one to ever open at No. 1 worldwide. It's the biggest movie in the franchise," Milla Jovovich said. "So we're definitely going to make another one," she said, adding that director Paul W.S. Anderson, her husband, already has some ideas for the fifth Resident Evil installment, and this time he wants the audience's ideas, too. "We've been talking to a lot of fans on Twitter and stuff, so it's probably going to be one of the first movies where we really talk to fans to see what they want, and what characters they want to see. It's going to be a more interactive process."
Resident Evil: Afterlife was released September 10th, 2010 and stars Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Kim Coates, Shawn Roberts, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Spencer Locke, Boris Kodjoe, Wentworth Miller. The film is directed by Paul W.S. Anderson.

@Jasonkat I wouldn't bet on them dropping the 3D thing. The execs are prob thinking it got #1 this past weekend because of the 3D, so I doubt they would do away with that when they know then can squeeze out a few more bucks out of you.

i prob wont win the poster/shirt contest anyways So here's my rating for all 4 films. So far... Resident Evil..3-stars, Resident Evil: Apocalypse 4-stars, Resident Evil: Extinction 1-star and Resident Evil: Afterlife ...3-stars. and im not being mean or judging them in a bad way. but every singl1 of them has its pros and cons. even if they made it based on the game, it will still have its goods and bads.. I mean if i compare resident evil with the remake of "dawn of the dead" then dawn of the dead makes resident evil look cheap. i rate D.O.T.D. ..5 stars, good zombie movie. and yet that1 had its bads too. so REALLY if RE is going for a fifth. then they better come up w sumthing good,..drop the 3d thing. get rid of the action. and give us sumthing like dawn of the dead w a very powerful shocking ending or sumwat. but DONTt make it anything like "land of the dead" that is worst thanany RE movie.

As much as i wanna reboot this movie, i still like what we have now with this RE. but damn i keep getting chris Redfield and leon confused w eachother. and then they go throwing in carlos in the movies, to tell u the truth, i dont really care if they dont follow the game roots as long as they place the same game's characters, rather than makeup new 1s for the films. or atleast a new character shouldnt be the main character in the film, it should b sum1 like chris jill, leon, claire, maybe even sum1 unknown like ashley in RE4 or sumthing like that. that way when we "the fans" go see it we already know who is who. rather than us going ?HUMM I DONT REMEBER AN ALICE? lolz

That's a lot of money for this franchise. Doubt they will duplicate that with the next one but I've enjoyed them all so far so it's nice to see them haul in that kind of cheddar after that many films!

Those glasses give me a headache, Avatar was the last one I saw in 3D, but it wasn't my plan the stupid lady said it has not started yet and when I went in it had already started, so I paid the extra $3 to see it from the very begining.
