According to Box Office Mojo, a release date for Transformers 2 has been set. They are reporting that the film will open on June 26th, 2009.

This seems a little too soon, doesn't it? This release date could just be an overzealous editor filling in empty spaces with wishful thinking. Nothing else at this time confirms that Transformers 2 will be opening on this date.

Director Jerry Bruckheimer recently stated, "Transformers 2, well that's another story. I might jump ship and come back a year or so later cause people at the studio have been dragging for two months. Not sure why. I'll keep you informed."

This apparent release date being offered by Box Office Mojo seems unlikely. We will update you with any new word on the subject.

Transformers was released July 2nd, 2007 and stars Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Rachael Taylor, Anthony Anderson, Jon Voight, John Turturro. The film is directed by Michael Bay.
