Relativity Media is getting brutal with their next project. According to Variety, the studio has picked up the spec script Hunter-Killer.

Line producer Arne Schmidt wrote the script, his first, but submitted it under a pseudonym, because he didn't want his day job to have any affect on the script's status. Pierre Morrel (District B13) is in talks to direct the new film.

The film is based off the novel "Firing Point" by Don Keith and George Wallace, which centers on an American submarine commander and Navy SEAL team who must rescue the captured Russian president and fend off a coup attempt from a radical Russian admiral.

No production schedule was released for the film.
