Amber Heard is Red Sonja?
Here's what Avi Lerner had to say about Amber Heard's involvement in Red Sonja.
"We're talking to a few girls for the role of Sonja, but we just finished a movie called Drive Angry with Amber Heard, and I want to see her. She's my favorite for the role. Amber is the new Red Sonja... but she doesn't know it yet!"
Red Sonja had previously been set up with Rose McGowan in the lead, Robert Rodriguez producing and Douglas Aarniokoski directing. Now the project is being revamped with a whole new team. Avi Lerner is also behind Conan the Barbarian and revealed that Red Sonja will shoot before a proposed sequel to Conan the Barbarian goes into production.
"We didn't want to start it until we'd finished Conan. We will definitely shoot Red Sonja in between Conan and Conan 2. We already chose the director: an English guy called Simon West."
Red Sonja centers on a vengeful female warrior who seeks out those who killed her family, in her trademark chain-mail bikini. Conan the Barbarian hits theaters on August 19. We expect to hear much more on the development of Red Sonja in the near future.
Red Sonja is in development . The film is directed by Simon West.

I never did like Rose McGowan for the role. And Fox can forget about it. Bridger Nielsen IMO, will forever be Red Sonja for me.

The last lady to play the role filled out that outfit quite well as I recall, of course she has to be around 55 now. I'm fine with Heard, her skinny frame just doesn't scream Red Sonja to me is all.
