@the JOKER Well put. I also hate when CGI looks crappy in a movie. I will give this movie a shot,

THE JOKER
@jasdjqs The problem is that when you have other movies that pull of the CGI and make it look extremely real, the expectation is that all the films should fill that quota... When it doesn't that's when people will tear it to shreds

@renodc You hit the nail right on the head. The studio changed the attackers from the Chinese to the North Koreans because AMC theaters was bought by a Chinese company. This will continue to happen in the future as well.

looks excellent to me, killer Joe looks interesting.

From a financial standpoint even though China would be the most likely fit for the invading force, it would have been completely stupid to put them in the role of villain especially with China becoming more open to American cinema. They are a huge potential market.
As screwed up as Hollywood's thinking is, I'm suprised they didn't have the movie take place overseas with the US invading France or something and call the movie Red, White and Blue Dawn.

From the trailer, it looks like they stayed very close to the original concept minus the Russians add in the North Koreans(?). I didn't mind that the first film was from a reality standpoint completely preposterous, but I was kind of hoping they might put a little effort into the remake to try and tweak the story to make it a little more believable. This doesn't seem to be the case, and the North Korean invasion concept makes it even less believable.

I go away for a couple of days, and I find some newbie acting like tough sh*t, only to smacked down. Kudos, @bryanyentz
Oh, and @dowhatwedo read @thedude1which should be just below mine. You'll get a fairly good idea of why people are laughing at this film.

I still can't get past the fact that the studio caved into pressure and changed the the invaders to the North Koreans instead of the Chinese(even the Russians would have been a good choice). Damn you Hollywood!!!

@2movieguys -- The majority of audiences/consumers eat up a lot of sh*t. A lot of great/outstanding movies have laughable plots(if you really think about it), but have an incredible execution. This not being the case, of course. Based on the popularity of Jersey Shore, the Kardashians, Twilight, and Transformers(not to mention practically everything on CW; there's a very high chance people will buy into this, also.

...To clarify my comment ....we laughed at the orginial film and the concept of an invasion of Russia...So how can anyone buy that the USA (or half of it!) would be taken over during an an invasion from No. Korea!?!?......and we (the moive audience) will laugh now...I was making a "Comparison "....on how U can change the setting...change the plot...etc;..but somehow people will still laugh and jeer.!

And yet you go onto other pages and talk about how lame you think other films are; i.e.: The Dark Tower page in which you stated, "Ron Howard? Come on. . . I'm sure this will disappoint" and "Great. . . Terrible writer at the helm. Can't wait." So you do the EXACT thing you stated that you didn't do.
Congratulations, you f*cking rash, hypocrite.
But considering you apparently don't read things fully but instead jump to conclusions, I'll go ahead and summarize this as a list.
1. You go onto pages and complain about film's and their overall value.
2. You attacked me for stating my side on the subject of Red Dawn's trailer.
3. You say that you're not guilty of doing the same thing.
4. You do the EXACT SAME THING.
5. Examples listed above--or refer to your own page for a record of your bitching.
6. You are a hypocrite.
7. You seem to be blind to your own actions and lack of logic. And troll upon others for doing the same thing you do; even when you agree that the material looks lame.
8. Really, man?
I hope my numbered points made it easier for you to comprehend this time around. And next time you think about harping on someone, you had damn well better make sure you're not doing the same thing you attack others for.

@dan1 -- "Umad" = the most annoying online term in the history of texts.
@2movieguys -- The first one wasn't any good in the first place, so don't get your panties in a bunch.
@bryanyentz -- Agreed.
@Ryan-Davis -- Your avatar perfectly emulates your personality. It was nice to see that you "gave a f*ck", and insulted Bryan(for no apparent reason), only to say that you think the movie looks lame. Am I missing something, or did you just contradict yourself?
