Ray and The Grudge top the DVD charts
Ray, which has received six Oscar nominations, including best picture and a best director nomination for Taylor Hackford, generated more than $40 million in total consumer spending during its first day in release on home video.
Sony's The Grudge, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, followed up in the #2 slot on the sales charts and was the nation's No. 1 rental title for the week ending February 6, generating $9.24 million.

Ray was released October 29th, 2004 and stars Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, Regina King, Clifton Powell, Harry Lennix, Bokeem Woodbine, Aunjanue Ellis, Sharon Warren. The film is directed by Taylor Hackford.
