Randall Miller is set to produce and direct the drama, Bottle Shock for Intellectual Properties Worldwide and Zen Haze Productions.

The film is the story behind the birth of the Napa wine industry, and based on Ross Schwartz's screenplay, which culminates in the triumph of California wines over the French at the 1976 Paris Tastings. reports Variety.

Casting begins in early 2007 for Bottle Shock; it starts shooting in the summer in Napa and Sonoma.
