Stephanie Szostak joins R.I.P.D.
R.I.P.D. is based on the Dark Horse comic book, which follows the Rest in Peace Department of the police force, a team of mystery solving ghosts not yet ready to leave this world behind. Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges will play undead partners attempting to solve Ryan Reynolds' own murder.
Stephanie Szostak's wife character will sense that Ryan Reynolds's character is still around in spirit, and he uses her to communicate details of his death.
R.I.P.D. is eyeing a September start in Boston.
R.I.P.D. comes to theaters June 28th, 2013 and stars Ryan Reynolds, Jeff Bridges, Kevin Bacon, Stephanie Szostak, Mary-Louise Parker, Marisa Miller, James Hong, Robert Knepper. The film is directed by Robert Schwentke.
