Brad and Angelina seemed happy, as did an ebullient Quentin Tarantino, although TWC's 50/50 partner on the picture, Universal, UPDATE: is talking to the filmmaker about returning to the editing room post-Cannes to make some trims edits that might include adding a scene, says Tarantino, who reminds that the film, at two hours 27 minutes, is well under his contractual final cut length of two hours 48 minutes.
Inglourious Basterds will hit theaters on August 21.
Inglourious Basterds was released August 21st, 2009 and stars Brad Pitt, Mélanie Laurent, Christoph Waltz, Eli Roth, Michael Fassbender, Diane Kruger, Daniel Brühl, Til Schweiger. The film is directed by Quentin Tarantino.

I heard that this film took a bashing at Cannes too. Still, with Tarantino's unique style, I've not given up on it yet. I'll wait for reviews of the final release.

Can't wait. No matter how bad it's going to be, it will always be Tarantino and we will always love Tarantino!

well atleast he is editing in the sense to add a scene and probaly make the movie better then taking out a scene and although the movie will be longer but hey it might be worth it in the end.

I'm ok with this since its Tarantino, i smell theatrical cut on cinema and directors cut on DVD.
Best option, people will pay for the additonal stuff they didn't see, plus it Tarantino and plus extras and Special features

A longer version is fine with me, all of his movies are great.

ALRIIGHT. whatever terrintino sees as right is probably on the road to righteousness. LOL.
Still 2hrs 48 mintues, that's HARSHLY long for people hitting others and screaming the death of hitler. OH well, QT is one of the Greatest directors of all time, I wont question his work.

"According to--" the source isn't mentioned and the UPDATE appears in mid-sentence. This story needs to be edited, but I'm pleased with the 147 minute runtime, and QT will probly release a director's cut dvd of the 168 minute version next year.
As for "Death Proof," the talky scenes just made you irritated with the second group of girls even more, making you loathe them more, though with good reason, unlike Stuntman Mike. After the last shot of the film, I wanted all 3 of those bitches to get rundown by the guy who lent them his challenger. Say driving a semi he stored in the barn? lolz. That woulda been f*ckin' awesome!

So is mayhem though, and Death Proof had so little of that. The first half was good, but everything after he kills the first girl is crap. Except that the practical stunts were cool.

I enjoyed Death Proof, yes it was filled with talking heads but that what makes him, him.

Its Tarantino not Tarnantino.
If he wants to cut a new version, the new one must be better.
Two hours fourty eight minutes is fine with me.

I herd that the cannes film festival gave this movie a bad review.
