Quantum of Solace Is the Biggest Bond Yet
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures'/Columbia Pictures' Quantum of Solace, the 22nd James Bond adventure, has taken in over $167.1 million to become the most successful Bond film of all time in North America, surpassing the $167 million grossed domestically by Casino Royale, it was announced today by Jeff Blake, chairman of Sony Pictures Worldwide Marketing and Distribution. The film is still playing in 891 theaters in the United States.
In addition, Quantum of Solace has grossed another $382.9 internationally, with the important market of Japan still yet to open. Taking in a worldwide gross so far of $550 million, Quantum of Solace is already the second-highest grossing Bond film of all time worldwide.
Commenting on the announcement, Blake said, "It is always gratifying when the audience responds to a film, but to be working with a character as successful as James Bond and see the two films Sony has handled become the two most successful films in the history of the franchise makes us all tremendously proud. It has been a special thrill to work on the Bond films, and we couldn't be more excited by the success of Quantum of Solace."
Daniel Craig reprises his role as Ian Fleming's James Bond 007 in Quantum of Solace, the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures/Columbia Pictures release of EON Productions' 22nd adventure in the longest-running film franchise in motion picture history. The film is produced by Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli and directed by Marc Forster. The screenplay was written by Paul Haggis and Neal Purvis & Robert Wade.
Quantum of Solace was released November 14th, 2008 and stars Daniel Craig, Olga Kurylenko, Mathieu Amalric, Judi Dench, Giancarlo Giannini, Gemma Arterton, Jeffrey Wright, David Harbour. The film is directed by Marc Forster.

"and it showed a bigger story for the next"
So Quantum's story sucked but since it sets up ANOTHER movie, it's okay? Quantum isn't memorable. It slips my mind and Royale is so far ahead of it as far as suspense, story, and performances go. Yeah, it didn't have AS MUCH action, but the action sequences it did have were still executed better than the bazillion shown in Quantum. Again, grow up and think logically. All you care about is sex, drugs, and action...no wonder you're going no where with your life

"Enjoyable" don't mean sh*t when it's a direct sequel to a movie that told a marvelous story. You're interpretation of "mediocre" is so far off...mediocre is QoS, which had poorly-executed action sequences for the most part and a villain who yelled like a f*cking Native American on crack when he swings weapons at opponents. Royale is FAR from mediocre. It might not have been your cup of joe, but it was oscar worthy compared to Solace, which you only liked because of the action. Royale paved the way for a new generation of Bond and Quantum flushed it down the toilet...I hope the next director has plunger. Really JR, did you really need to bring that up again? I mean, you were pissed that I overreacted about it, and now you're taunting me with it. Really man, grow up

Casino was awesome in so many ways. Then QoS came, I hate to say this but the story was lame, interchanging locations confused me and my friends. The main villan was as bad as Superbad.
The only good thing that came out of it was the action, it could have been toned down a bit more. It was like watching XXX 2.
It lacked direction but there wasn't a moments peace for any of the actors, when you thought it was over it wasn't.
I say redo this one and with a better director, cause this director stole the life out of Bond.

no, medicore would be 3 stars. it was no way a 3 star film, tdk had a diffrent story. this follows up exactly where casino leaves off. it has more action than casino. and it showed a bigger story for the next. vis still cant get over the fact that the movie was awsome and more enjoyable than casino. casino had story but it was medicore and alright action.

TDK was a great movie and sequel, and keeping the same formula doesn't mean you get the same movie. It just means it should have had a better story instead of relying on poorly executed action sequences. It isn't a "great work." It's mediocre compared to Royal. I'm a little amused at the fact that you tell people to stop bitching and yet you're the one arguing just for the sake of arguing.

What is with you people? Your not real movie critics. Stop critizing great work. This movie deserves every penny. Stop bitchin. If you want to talk about bad sequels. let's talk about Dark Knight. Good move but bad sequel. Nough said!

No you idiot. If you keep the same formula, YOU WOULD JUST HAVE THE EXACT SAME FILM! WHICH IS WHERE ESCAPE FROM LA. FAILED, DUMBASS BITCH!

This was the first ever direct sequel in Bond history, SO YEAH, they should have kept to the formula.

Quantum was in every way better than Royale. Why do you think the bond movies have been around so long, you f*cking idiots!? They constantly change the formula, which is good. Agent-f*g if you like figuring out formulas so much, then go find one that explains why your such a f*cking bitch.

Daniel Craig makes more sense than Roger Moore or Sean Connery, who both look like they would get their ass kicked in a fight lol. At least Pierce Brosnan looked smart. The "newer" bonds are better than the old ones. No offense.

Daniel Craig just isnt a james bond to me...i feel asleep during the first one, and the commercials for this one over played the actual movie

The action was great, but Casino Royale in one word was 'fun'. Quantum of Solace wasn't.

Yes Casino Royale was better, but since this was ITS sequel, it had more hype and more people went to go see this because of that.

The villain was a weak character. Craig is a superb Bond. The script was too reliant on the first film. The action sequences were excellent. That's the gist of it.

Bring back the previous director, Martin Campbell, and have an independent story.
Casino Royale blew me away; one of my favorite films. This one...
Well, like Vis said, "Doesn't deserve it."
"You got about as much thunderballs as Octop*ssy." That's the worst joke ever; but I laughed, nonetheless...

Well Killerman you certainly sound like you've handled a lot of balls mate, i can't tell weather your joking or speaking from experience.
No Killerman, i like women that's the difference between me and you. You don't like the 'Wo' part
I think Buzz Lightyear summed Killerman up pretty good when he said and i quote...

Quantum Of Solace is from the novel entitled 'For Your Eyes Only (Short Stories Collection)' which was the first short story anthology novel written by Ian Fleming
