Pushing Daisies Set for Cancellation?
The series wraps production on its 13-episode order today and, insiders claim that ABC won't be handing out a back-nine order for the series' second season. A rep for ABC said the show's fate had not yet been decided upon, though.
Ratings for the Bryan Fuller-created series have been on a downslide this year from its strong debut season last year, which was shortened to just nine episodes, due to the writers strike.
However, TV Week reported earlier this week that Fuller said, if the show were to be cancelled, there was the possibility of finishing the story off through a comic book series which would, "clear the slate for a movie," according to Fuller.
We also reported last week that Fuller mentioned he would be open to rejoining the staff of Heroes if Pushing Daisies wasn't picked up. Fuller served as a producer and writer on the series' first season before Pushing Daisies was picked up.
We'll surely keep you posted on any developments regarding Pushing Daisies and Bryan Fuller's plans as soon as we get more information.
