Back in March, director Ridley Scott revealed he was aiming for Prometheus to receive an R rating. Today, we have confirmation that his new sci-fi thriller will indeed be rated R. Take a look at the official reason for the R rating below, along with the photo of an advance screening ticket stub, which also confirms the age-restricted rating.

Our earlier report indicated the movie could possibly be tailored for a PG-13 release, but it seems that isn't the case. Ridley Scott is directing from a screenplay by Jon Spaihts and Damon Lindelof.
Prometheus was released June 8th, 2012 and stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Guy Pearce, Logan Marshall-Green, Sean Harris, Rafe Spall. The film is directed by Ridley Scott.
