Fox releases brief Prometheus synopsis in response to a fake plot rundown
"Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life's ultimate mystery."
Here is the bogus plot synopsis, which the 20th Century Fox representative described as, "way off," compared to the actual story. Even though this isn't the actual Prometheus story line, you can take a look at this fake plot description below.
"Earth. Year 2058.
Archaeological digs in Africa reveal alien artifacts that humans were genetically engineered by a advanced alien race (space jockeys). These "Alien Gods" also terraformed Earth in order to make it habitable for their human creations. Amongst finds are coordinates to the Alien God's home-world, to Paradise. Months later the Weyland Corp launch the spaceship Prometheus and his crew, into deep space to make first contact. Thanks to faster than light travel a few years later the Prometheus enters the Zeta Riticuli star system. Humans are greeted by their makers, then transported further into space to a scary yet fascinating world. The Alien Gods are proud of their "children", their first creation to reach such levels of intelligence.
As a reward they share bits of their astonishing bio-based technologies with the humans. But for one crew member of the Prometheus it's not enough. In a treacherous act he steals the "bio-source code" to Terraforming, a technology at the origin of all Gods' power, that could make humans equal to the gods. The Alien Gods may be scientists but are also ruthless conquerors, destroyers of worlds who will not accept humans as equals. They unleash on the escaping human crew their favorite bio-weapon, a creature used to "clean up" worlds before colonization. But something goes wrong in the process and humans manage to turn the bio-weapon against their makers. Giving birth to a smarter, nastier, bigger breed of gut eating creatures. Creatures that will be the demise of Paradise. What's left of the Prometheus crew manages to escape the doomed planet.
On their trail a survivor Alien God in very familiar ship with one ultimate mission.
Bring the wrath of the Gods to Earth."

Though a classic, ethers no doubt i was boring, but the lore and everything else that grew off that- namely 'Aliens', and a forum on comics and stories, timeline, a lore, that is going to be explored very nostalgically here: but did i say that was a bad thing ;) Ridley is finally coming home after a decade of swrod and sandals and bow and arrow charade that is both trivial and boring...GLADIATOR was the one...dont need to spruce it up with KOH and Robin Hood ( having it rewritten from its original unique storyline and having it just be replicated as GLADIATORS 2) though the past is the past!

Actually yes. When I was talking to him I had a funny feeling that he wanted me for the main role though I wasn't certain. Sure I've had two speaking roles, but moving up the ladder takes time. This guy wants me to leap over ten hand holds. Anyway I've gone through auditions before but never got roles, I can get on sets for being an extra but that's about it. I suggested that I would be better in a supporting role, he looked as if I had said something wrong.
I can say this, he's a founder of his own entertainment studio, he directs, acts, writes, produces and does his own editing. His first film not only got nominated but won as well through the film festival in Hamilton, Ontario.

If you sign a privacy waver contract, then technically that means you are contracted to the film, defining that you are in the film, therefore that is why you can't speak of the film.
So brief you've been given a role, without auditioning because the director envisions you in a specific role, which sounds like at the moment, you have no clue what that role is.

The synopsis above is fake. I was doing freelance film journalism and myself and my female companion were on the set of Hugo Cabaret for the time they were filming at Pinewood and Ealing Film School and they were filming Prometheus in Studio 1 and Ridley recognised me from when we bumped into each other on the Centaurion set while he was filming Robin Hood and Ridley just invited us on to the set.
Also i had some business going with Scott-Free productions at the moment. :)

@k-man I know what your saying. But as I read the synopsis, I couldn't help to think it was WAY over done. Like so much work was put into the story, it was over worked. I know like back in grade school days, one person can ruin it all for one. But the key part for me, is if these "God" aliens love humans so much, then why would they seek and punish that one person, and instead of the entire planet of earth and the humans? I just find it hard to digest, a alien race that's intelligence are so high with powers like "gods" they would do that. I can see the connection to those who spoil it for everyone, but nothing like this scale this movie is pushing. I do love the movie description from start to finish. And as a Aliens franchise fan, I am really looking forward to it. But it is to me, trying to hard. What I would like to know is, is the Aliens franchise going forward on its own storyline, and ignoring anything did for either AvP movies? Cause they made it look like Predator's was partly responsaible for the Aliens, cause they hunted them, and they had placed on earth

I have to admit the fake plot sounds awesome! They should make a movie off of that!

@jayaottley: You say this is in the same vein as the first two, yet Scott has insisted he doesn't want to make what would essentially be a stylized remake of it. And he claims the space jockeys play a role, and I doubt they'd be in toe with Xenomorph carnage. On another note, Prometeus comes from the greek legend that Prometheus gave fire to man, allowing civilization to flourish, when fire was considered godlike. So alien terraforming powers--ie the key to galactic civilizations--is akin to fire, and the space jockeys are akin to Gods--like Zeus who punished Prometheus for his actions--thus making the consp*cuous title more of a lead in to the 'bogus' synopsis.

If this is the actual movie it sounds pretty good and i like the idea that we are creations from an alien race. I mean, its nothing new or revolutionary thought-wise but still and interesting concept as a springboard for a movie.

@jayaottley - Doubters??? What are you talking about, man? Did you read my comment?
I said I dont know what to make of the "fake" synopsis.....as in, I'm not sure if it's actually real or fake. I'm not talking about the film itself......
If anyone has doubts about the film, it sure isn't me. I've been praising this film since the day it was announced and I know how awesome it's going to be.
By the way, how did you get on set?

the waver contracts you to the project, so that would make you locked in as for think of it logically.
Would there be a point of you signing a waver/privacy contract for a film your only auditioning for @zender

@jay.A.Ottley On Wednesday morning I woke up early 6:30, got changed and left. I'm not really a morning person but I didn't have a coffee which wakes me up normally. Went and I got lost in that city, it's a maze. Anyway I asked where the bar was with one of the locals and they never heard of it.
I met with this young director two weeks ago for another film and asked me to sign a waver so I wouldn't talk about the up coming feature. He wanted me for the major role which seemed odd and I told him that I would like to do a supporting role instead.
Anyway, this waver I signed does that mean I'm locked into a production that I don't want to be in? The reason I ask is because I've heard that actors have to audition first before signing anything.

@jayaottley just to clarify, i AM excited to see the film and am looking forward to it. my initial point was that they made this big press release to tell us ABSOLUTELY nothing about the movie in an atempt to discredit their own mistake in letting the supposed fake synopsis out. and really they dont have to arouse peoples curiosity. i'm pretty sure that we're all curious enough that we dont need a lame "synopsis" that is nothing more than a ridley scott bio mixed with the basic plot for EVERY alien movie. thats all im saying.

It does happen, if they're was a location change and they didn't have time to inform everyone or accidentally missed someone out someone or sometimes people just don't know what they're doing, that why I always try to find my own way and in case have the director's or producer number at hand :)

hi everyone
I was told two days ago that Pinewood Set is in three to four country's. England, Canada, USA and China
@jay.A.Ottley is it possible to be led astray from a job, I was called for a bar scene in Stoney Creek but the directions I was given led me no where. I was so angry with the director for the entire day. Does this happen often?

and any other doubters, what 20th Century Fox and Scott are doing is creating the element of curiousity, that's why the conceptual plot outline stated above is so vague. Believe me once you lot see the trailer just embraced to jizz your pants a couple of times, lol.
From what I saw of the film on the few days i saw what was going on at the Pinewood Set, I can inform everyone here, this is in vein and stylism of the first 2 Alien flicks
