Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Rob Marshall, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides captures the fun, adventure and humor that ignited the hit franchise-this time in Disney Digital 3D. Johnny Depp returns to his iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow in an action-packed adventure. Crossing paths with the enigmatic Angelica (Penélope Cruz), he's not sure if it's love-or if she's a ruthless con artist who's using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the "Queen Anne's Revenge," the ship of the legendary pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn't know whom to fear more: Blackbeard or Angelica, with whom he shares a mysterious past. The international cast includes franchise vets Geoffrey Rush as the vengeful Captain Hector Barbossa and Kevin McNally as Captain Jack's longtime comrade Joshamee Gibbs, plus Sam Claflin as a stalwart missionary and Astrid Berges-Frisbey as a mysterious mermaid.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides was released May 20th, 2011 and stars Johnny Depp, Penélope Cruz, Geoffrey Rush, Ian McShane, Kevin McNally, Sam Claflin, Astrid Berges-Frisbey, Stephen Graham. The film is directed by Rob Marshall.

All i saying was what i noticed from the video ;) . I was not talking about the whole movie, considering it has not even been released yet. Plus, there was quite a bit of new footage from the movie was shown on the featurette, and that's why i said what i said about it.

@POTC4 - Look man, people are giving you a hard time because it appears you dont know what the hell you are talking about. When you "agreed" with me about the look of the film, you were actually completely contradicting yourself by everything you continued to write, which was basically the opposite of what I was saying.
See, I was telling Narrator that the "look" of the film is different (aka Not as good/not matching in continuity) the other three films because Pirates: OST was shot on a RED camera, which means it was shot digitally. The first three movies were shot on film, which means they were NOT shot digitally. By you saying that it looking like the first film and all that stuff, it didn't make sense.

And by the way, you sound pretty foolish saying things like "The company that handels light, Industrial Light and Magic "ILM", has done a very good job on how they did that with Pirates 4"
Dude, that doesn't even make sense......Industrial Light and Magic is a special effects company that is in charge of doing CGI work. They have absolutely nothing to do with how the lighting in the film looks. The lighting depends on the DP (Director of Photography), the gaffers (who actually rig the lights) and the camera they decide to go with. Shooting a film with a RED camera, which has a high latitude of light sensitivity, has a very different look than the same image captured on celluloid (film).

Also, just so you know, by shooting on a RED and having a higher resolution.......that's not what makes the "look" of you film change. Its the depth of field, the amount of "grain" you see in the image (or lack-thereof with digital), the contrast/color ratio and the sensitivity to light. Those are the key factors that separate film and digital.

So my advice to you is this: Unless you know what you are talking about, DONT POST IT. You'll only sound naive and get ripped on again and again by the people that DO know what they are talking about.

Just trying to help you out.

The video was removed as the studio claimed that this featurette leaked a month too early! I'm sure it'll be back soon as well.

Well, now that bloom and knightley are gone, this will be more about Jack, Barbossa, Angelica (penelope cruz's role), and Blackbeard. Sam Claflin and Astrid Berge Frisbey who play Syrena and Philip, will be like the new William Turner and Elizabeth Swann.

I'm not sure, but it will probably be put back on the websites that it was taken off of, because when something like that happens, they usually put the video back shortly after it was taken off of websites.

@POTC, aside from not understanding your comment in the least (other than the fact that I shouldn't judge the film by its trailer which you keep re-iterating), I found quite a few errors in your series of jumbled words.

Just wait until the movie comes out, and then decide for your self if it's best one, second best, third best, etc. Don't get all caught up on what i say, just because you may have a different point in view, of how good or bad this movie may be, it's not worth it going back and fourth with me on that. Also, what i ment to say before, instead of me saying what i said about how it will be like the first movie, i ment to say it will be more like the second movie, when it comes to having to do with the realm, and cinematography of the second movie. The first movie seemed to be more plain, bland and original, and not "over the top" like Pirates 3, Pirates 2 doesn't seem bad when it comes to having to do with the problems that Pirates 3 has, that make it the way it is.

  20. The Narrator: The Better Man

@POTC, are you really not catching on? You just said once again that I shouldn't judge films based off of trailers or videos, and then you next sentence states that this will be the second best installment in the franchise. What the f*ck man!? Also, this looks nothing like the first film did cinematography wise, for reasons that @K-Man pointed out.

I already have "branch beyond Pirates" . And No, i was only saying something that, Jerry Bruckhemer had said about the movie, in the recent past in a video interview, where he was talking about the movie.

"Also, yes it will be the best movie to the franchise, since the first one, because it will not be over bloated or over done, or just another Pirates 2 and 3." LMFAO!!!!! My point proven, right f*cking there, people.

  29. Sean

    @The Narrator
Right, no one should judge a movie from its movie trailers, because they are only short clips put together in one video, and that's not much to see from the movie. Also, yes it will be the best movie to the franchise, since the first one, because it will not be over bloated or over done, or just another Pirates 2 and 3. That was already mentioned by Jerry Bruckheimer in some video interview he was in, a while back ago that i watched, that he was talking about Pirates 4. The cinematraphy will be like Pirates 1 for Pirates 4, because they took down the tone over the movie, at Pirates 1's tone so that it would be alot like Pirates 1 .
