Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest DVD Sets U.K. Sales Record
In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Buena Vista Home Entertainment reports that according to "the U.K. DVD record books" the title is the fastest selling disc of all time.
Pirates of Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest was released in the U.K. on November 20 and it sold 1.5 million units in it's first week. Pirates 2 even bested Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire's first week sales record of 1.4 million copies.
However, the title still belongs to Titanic's DVD/VHS record of 2.2 units sold in the first week.
Demand in the U.K. has been so high that Buena Vista Home Entertainment has orded one million more copies, and the hope is that they can sell 3 million copies before the end of the year.
Pirates of Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest hits stores in the U.S. December 5 from Buena Vista Home Entertainment.
