Looking good! Rob Marshall is the wild card here, not Penelope Cruz. I loved the first trilogy in the hands of Verbinski, but it remains to be seen if Marshall can bring the same sense of fun and adventure.

McShane will deliver the goods without a doubt,... But Cruz will not.. she is an overrated actress IMO.. i dont like anything with her,.. if they had put Salma Hayek in it would be awesome,... Cruz dont fit the mix either.... Bottom line: she sucks!!

@BabyH, I also recommend watching the tv series Kings. It's incredible, and McShane melts the screen with his acting in it.

@Narrator: Bill Nighy, yes. Geoffrey Rush, no. I was mainly talking about Orlando Bloom and some of the other supporting cast. Don't know their names, lol. But in this capacity I believe McShane will be fabulous, and a terrific counterpart to Depp's character. And yes, as good as Keira Knightley is, Penelope Cruz is an upgrade over her in my mind as well.
If u have any doubts about Ian McShane, u should watch 44 inch chest- if u haven't already.

The costume design looks decent. I may see this film but again the pirates of the caribbean series for me died a long time ago

Agreed @cripple. He's an upgrade in my opinion over much of what they've had in the past. The same is true for Penelope Cruz, for that matter.

The Narrator: The Better Man
Hmmm.. we'll see. I am really looking forward to this, but it still has a huge possibility of screwing the wrong things up.

I hope this brings back the magic of the first one, the other two sequels lacked what this first had.
