Piranha 3D Trailer Arrives!

Acclaimed horror director Alexandre Aja is set to redefine immersive cinema with his upcoming blood-soaked remake of Piranha 3D. This old classic gets a modern day update in what looks to be a very scary good time. To get your first look at the film, check out the trailer in the video clip below:

Jaws...lots and lots of jaws. From acclaimed horror director Alexandre Aja comes the new action thriller Piranha 3D, in the latest eye-popping 3D technology. A new type of terror is about to be cut loose on beautiful Lake Victoria. After a sudden underwater tremor sets free scores of the prehistoric man-eating fish, an unlikely group of strangers must band together to stop themselves from becoming fish food for the area's new razor-toothed residents. But our heroine (Elisabeth Shue) is seriously outnumbered, and with only one chance to save the lake and her family from totally being devoured, she must risk everything to destroy the aquatic carnivores herself. Also starring Adam Scott, Ving Rhames, Richard Dreyfuss, Christopher Lloyd, Dina Meyer, Brooklynn Proulx, Quinn Lord, Riley Steele, Jessica Szohr, Jerry O'Connell, Cody Longo, and Ricardo Chavira, Piranha 3D is set to eat up the Cineplex on April 16th, 2010.

Piranha 3D was released August 20th, 2010 and stars Richard Dreyfuss, Ving Rhames, Elisabeth Shue, Christopher Lloyd, Eli Roth, Jerry O'Connell, Steven R. McQueen, Jessica Szohr. The film is directed by Alexandre Aja.

Ah come on guys stop the bashing already... This kind of reminds me of Snakes on a plane. Just pure fun entertainment. And can't wait to see those 3D in-your-face boobs the director is talking about. You know this film isn't taking itself seriously so why should you guys??

There's a market for movies like this. It's the same reason people still pay to go see Ed Wood films in art-house cinemas on a Saturday night. It's fun to laugh at terrible movies. Especially ones that don't aspire to anything. It's Piranha f*cking 3D, and it knows it.

Saw the preview in theaters, thought it looked like a sci-fi tv original. What the f*ck and why? And Ving Rhames- NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! also Jerry O'connell, randomly horrible choice to attempt a comeback

(Project Razor Teeth) For me, there is only one Piranha movie and that's the 1978 Piranha. James, The Spawning was way too advanced and became a lame movie. The 1995 remake was boring. And this one, hoping to fit the 21st century peeps cause of the director Alexandre Aja, I will not pre-judge this one yet, cause Dimension's 'Rogue' (Michael Vartan, Radha Mitchell, Sam Worthington), an another crocodile movie, surprised me! But I can still imagine the look of the Piranhas in Fox's Ice Age 2 and 3, lol.

Are you f*cking kidding me? With all the money these movie companies have they couldn't of come up with something better? And then they wonder why they're going bankrupt and don't have any money to make quality films. Its because they waste it on sh*t like this.

In terms of plot-structure its clearly trying to rip off JAWS (since it even references Richard Dreyfuss who played Matt Hopper in the Jaws series). But from what I can discern PIRANHA 3D will be a SUCCESS. The film is not so much about "quality" as it is calling upon theory of spectatorship concerning a "cinema of attractions". This is to say audiences should focus on the spectacle of the event rather than the narrative. Where else could you see man eating fish in a three dimensional experience? Exactly, for that reason yes, admittedly Piranha will be laughable - BUT IT IS SUPPOSE TO BE, thats what makes it fun!!!

I'm really excited for this movie, it will be like the old DRIVE IN MOVIES how awesome is that!

  24. The Narrator: The Better Man

Doesn't look THAT bad folks. Yeah corny and for the teenagers to laugh at, and maybe a one or two scares and its done, but if your complaining about them just having to stay out of the water, then you should also complain about Jaws, although this is nothing like Jaws cinematic wise. Simply saying this isn't the worse to movie to come out. That said, I agree with Vamp, it will probably flop.

It's Piranha 3D. It's funny. It's not like Jaws where you actually feel bad at times. Its freakin piranha. Stay out of the water. If you went to a beach and a shark appeared what would you do?
