Pinkville Not Being Revived

Oliver Stone's highly touted film Pinkville is not going back into production despite the WGA agreeing to a new deal with UA, which would allow striking writers to begin working for the studio. According to Variety, the My Lai drama will not be revived due to Bruce Willis leaving the project at the beginning of the strike.

UA's deal with the WGA will allow Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner to go ahead with their preplanned slate of films being produced through the company. The deal may also open the doors for other independent film companies such as The Weinsteins and Lionsgate to work out a similar objective.

UA's next film will be the Tom Cruise thriller Valkyrie, which opens October 3rd, 2008.

Pinkville is in development .
