Bloody Disgusting is reporting that both Viggo Mortensen and Phillip Seymour Hoffman are set to join the cast of Xavier Gens' upcoming thriller Vanikoro.

The film chronicles the exploits of French explorer La Perouse. His ship Boussole was destroyed on a reef in Vanikoro along with most of his crew. A second ship called the Astrolabe was also shipwrecked, but La Perouse and some of the surviving shipmates managed to build a small raft out of the wreckage and float to safety.

The film does not have a set start date at this time.
