A long-delayed film is finally getting on track with a new director. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Peter Webber has signed on to direct Wuthering Heights.

John Maybury was initially attached to direct, with Natalie Portman and Michael Fassbender set to star as Cathy and Heathcliff, with Arterton and Westwick now stepping into the lead roles. Olivia Hetreed adapted the classic Emily Bronte novel for the silver screen.

It was said that with the new director and leads, production should start sometime this year. Webber's attachment reunites the director with screenwriter Hetreed, who they previously collaborated with on Girl with a Pearl Earring.

Wuthering Heights was released November 11th, 2011 and stars Kaya Scodelario, James Howson, Oliver Milburn, Nichola Burley, Amy Wren, James Northcote, Steve Evets, Paul Hilton. The film is directed by Andrea Arnold.
