Peter Krause and Maura Tierney Set for Parenthood
Krause and Tierney will play roles that Steve Martin and Diane Wiest made famous in the 1989 Parenthood film the pilot will be based on. The pilot was written by Jason Katims, the creator of Friday Night Lights, and the series will revolve around the Braverman siblings Adam (Krause), who is married with two kids, and Sarah (Tierney), a single mother.
Craig T. Nelson and Dax Shepard are also in negotiations to join the pilot and Mae Whitman has signed on as well. Wilson would play the Braverman patriarch, a Vietnam vet who transformed into an actor/hippie. Shepard will play the youngest, slacker, Braverman, while Whitman will play Sarah Braverman's rebelious 16-year-old daughter.
Ron Howard, who directed the original film, is executive producing alongside Brian Grazer and Katims. No production schedule was revealed.
