Johnny Knoxville has not been cast as Moe
The director appeared frustrated and annoyed that the rumors had spread so quickly, saying, "You don't want people to think 'they already cast that thing?' Because we haven't. It's wide open to everybody."
About the original casting of Sean Penn, Jim Carrey, and Benicio Del Toro, who have long since left the project, Farrelly said, "That was real. Sean Penn wanted to do it and when Sean wanted to do it, everyone wanted to do it. But he is extremely involved in Haiti right now. We heard that if we waited a couple years, we could probably get him, but we've already waited a few years."
Peter doesn't dislike the idea of Johnny Knoxville and Andy Samberg coming onto the project. They just haven't auditioned, and there are no contenders at this point. Says Farrelly, "Right now, I don't know. There is no leader in the clubhouse."
The director also offered more information about the movie, which will be rated PG, "It's The Three Stooges just like the [old shorts]. They're going to look the same, dress the same, sound the same, act the same, with the same sound effects. A car whips by an orphanage, throws a duffel bag out its window and keeps going. A nun sees the duffel and opens it up, and a little baby hand comes out and - Boink! - hits her in the eye. So that first episode is them growing up in the orphanage."
The 20th Century Fox comedy is gearing up for a mid-April start in Atlanta. That's only four months away, so expect to hear some official casting announcements made soon.
The Three Stooges was released April 13th, 2012 and stars Sean Hayes, Will Sasso, Chris Diamantopoulos, Jane Lynch, Sofía Vergara, Jennifer Hudson, Craig Bierko, Stephen Collins. The film is directed by Bobby Farrelly, Peter Farrelly.

see... i disagree, there is plenty of comedy that is considered less than what it was, and during the time of the most successful period for the stooges they entertained and were widely popular... that is like saying that jim carrey or dave chappele will still be funny in 60 years or so... times change and so does comedy, but for me i would rather see a film like this than what we have graduated to with fart jokes and bad language just to get a laugh from the audience... and for the record i still think carrey and chappelle are funny.

Uh unless they're going to dig up the bodies of Moe, Curly and Larry, re-animate them and bring them back to life, there's no way in HELL i'm going to watch this groan-fest. The Three Stooges are CLASSIC and cannot be copied or emulated. Period. Hah, the only funny thing about this movie at all, will be if they finish it and people actually pay to go see it. lmao.

ugh, i could care less about this. this movie seems less and less intersting every day. the 3 stooges aren't funny to begin with. it's just 3 idiots that keep slapping each other in the head. whoopty do. it really doesn't need a movie made about it. it's not going to work as a full length feature. even if they do chop it up into segments.
pass on this.
