Peter Dinklage has become the first cast member of the new live-action film, Underdog from Walt Disney Pictures and Spyglass Entertainment.

The film is an adaptation of the classic 1960s cartoon, and as The Hollywood Reporter says, Peter will play the villainous Simon Bar Sinister. Underdog followed the adventures of a humble dog named Shoeshine Boy who became the superheroic Underdog who spoke in rhymes.

Simon Bar Sinister, who's last name slyly translated to "Evil Bastard," was one of the show's recurring villains. Underdog will start production later this year and bark onto theaters in 2007.

Underdog was released August 3rd, 2007 and stars Jason Lee, Peter Dinklage, James Belushi, Patrick Warburton, Alex Neuberger, Taylor Momsen, John Slattery, Amy Adams. The film is directed by Frederik Du Chau.
