Peter Berg Sets His Sites on Battleship

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Peter Berg is currently talking to Universal about helming the big-screen version of the Hasbro board game, Battleship.

Currently, Jon and Erich Hoeber inked a deal to write the script.

The game follows two players who arrange multiple ships on a grid. The game then has various attacks as players do their best to "sink" the other side's ships by trying to guess where they are on the grid.

Universal hopes to turn the film into an epic naval action adventure.

    HOLD THE F*CK UP...
    A. No, that is a horrible idea
    B. Peter Berg is currently working on "Lone Survivor" (based on Marcus Luttrells book, if you haven't herd of it check it out, it is the most amazing books you will ever read). The last I herd about Lone Survivor was that he was going to begin writing the after he finished Hanc*ck which he apparently still has not finished. Lone Survivor is HUGE, it is way to early in the movies production for him to even be thinking about another movie

    I can't wait for Yahtzee the movie. It should be be directed by Quienten Tarantino starring Samual L. Jackson. When he wins a game he blows his opponent away and shouts "Yahtzee motherf*cker!". Pure genius.

    I must agree. I like Peter Berg. I like the idea of an epic naval adventure. But BATTLESHIP? To steal from Seth and Amy.. REALLY?? This is nothing but marketing.
