Pajiba reports that the remake still is in the works, with Josh Zetumer writing the film, and Paramount is searching for a new director. The site mentioned that directors Neil Marshall and Neill Blomkamp are in consideration to take over. It was also reported that Robert Pattinson was in talks to star, but those talks were with the recently-departed Berg, and it's unclear if he still might join the project.

Damn, Raven calm down. After seeing District 9, I want this guy to go on and direct more new, original works to build up his profession. If he'll do this remake in these days, it doesn't add anything just so money and you don't really know if it's gonna work. And doing remakes is way to easy because you already have a foundation to look back at. Blomkamp shouldn't do this. So, go f*ck your mother.
