Pete Postlethwaite passes away from cancer at the age of 64
Actor Pete Postlethwaite passed away on Sunday night. Andrew Richardson, a journalist and longtime friend of Postlethwaite, confirmed the news this morning. Pete was undergoing cancer treatments at the time of his death.

Pete Postlethwaite's 40-year career in front of the camera includes an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor in the 1993 picture In the Name of the Father. His other memorable roles include Kobayashi in The Usual Suspects, Roland Tembo in The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Holabird in Amistad and many more. Most recently, Pete Postlethwaite starred in Ben Affleck's The Town, Christopher Nolan's Inception and Louis Leterrier's Clash of the Titans.

Postlethwaite was born in 1946 to a Catholic family in Warrington, England. Although he wanted to be a priest, he was lured to the stage, performing in a touring company with his girlfriend at the time, Julie Walters. He started out with smaller roles on British TV shows and in movies such as The Last of the Mohicans and Alien 3 before his Oscar nomination for In the Name of the Father put him on the map.

The actor is survived by his wife, Jacquelline, and two children.

It is a shame. This man was a chameleon of an actor who died before his time. I have never seen this man give a bad performance and i especially am fond of his portrayal of Keiser Soze. R.I.P fine actor.

Do not grieve at the passing of mortality, for life's but a thing of terrible gravity. And the planets gravitate around you,and the stars shall dance about you,and the angels in heaven adore you, and the saints all stand and applaud you.So faraway,so faraway and yet so close.

Sad.... He could act, and his voice was a character on its own. Like Patrick Stewart, he had the ability to show emotions and yet still be a strong on camera vision as well.
