I like how the books changed once Percy disappeared. Igniting new characters into the mix.I finding that it helps to bring in new and old fans. Chris should have read the first book before directing it, though I know it wasn't his fault it was the screenwriter.

Hmm, 8 books huh? Wonder if we'll get to see them all, assuming Percy ages in the books

@xenon56 Why do you say that to me, it's his words. I guess he gave it some thought considering he's the one adapting the book. Professional screenwriters usually have a pretty good sense of script structure...

Ugh, the first Percy Jackson was so terribly put together I cringed every time someone spoke. I say nay to a sequel!

I seem to be one of the few here who actually liked the first one. Not the greatest film ever, but an enjoyable surprise during the slow month of February :P

@CelluloidDreams If you've ever watched Drake and Josh she was the heavy-set black lady who owned the movie theater (loved Drake, but always dissed Josh).

As much as I liked the first film, I still think it needs to be redone before moving on to the second book.

Yannick, it's possible to lengthen scenes. Each chapter can be a scene

Marc Guggenheim (Green Lantern) is (also?) writing the screenplay for this. I spoke to him very recently and he said he was tasked with adapting the book and was working on it, and that he is making changes to the third act because, if he made it like the book, it would literally be over in a minute as the third act in the book takes just one chapter.
