Here are some bits of the conversation:
In fact, he told me that "Last week Brandon Routh has come around the offices in New York and Los Angeles as of late to talk about Superman and what we want to do."
"Everyone is waiting for Nolan to sign on for another Batman, once that happens, the release date for Superman and all other future projects will follow."

Shadow is exactly right, if we wait, the product will be undoubtedly better than if they rush it.
and lazypanda, are you talking about what Frank Miller proposed for The Dark Knight Returns?

Yes Recast Lois and Keep Routh and I say let Nolan rest for a few more weeks dont rush the 3rd Batman we have a good thing going here. We all wanted Venom in Spiderman 3 and well look at what we got.....

COOL. dadarkknight is right we can't have that vagina on a stick playing Lois.
Also, he should change his name.

The Narrator: The Better Man
Very well put Comrade. Yes, recast Lois, and Tom Welling is good, but should not be in the trilogy. Glad this happened.

They need to recast Lois. The Lois on Smallville is perfect, but since she is on the tv show already I would cast Rachel McAdam for the role. Lex Luthor they need to make the dude like he is in the comic rich and powerful not some guy that has to get money from an old lady that stupid. I want the lex corp Luther. They also need to get rid of the kid have the kid become brianic or something lol

...well, boy-howdy, i agree w/ comrade lmao He pretty much nailed it. If routh is given a better script, i think he can go great lengths with superman. Def. Millar writing, and yes, singer directing now that he's learned from his mistakes. Zack Snyder could bring a fresh superman to the screen, but i doubt he'd do it, so yeah, singer

Routh's Clark Kent is solid, very true to the character in the classic sense. But his Superman needs work, and here's why:
What people don't realize is that in the show Smalliville, Clark Kent IS Superman, there is no dividing line between the heroic Kryptonian and the Kansas farmboy. Which works for that show, but is problematic when you start dealing with the actual blue tights red cap Superman.
In the classic sense, Clark Kent is the name of a thin facade. Who Superman truly is is Kal-El. The last son of a dead planet, alone in a world of billions, struggling with his desire to be one of us, while at the same time protecting us. Superman is the man, Clark Kent is a feature of Superman, a trait like Batman's detective skills or Tony Stark's ethical business sense.
When I see Routh do Superman, I see one of three things
1) A Christopher Reeve impression
2) Clark Kent without the Glasses in a blue leotard
3) Occasionally in Returns, Routh came through with his own spin on the character; mostly when he didn't have dialogue. His Superman (and this could entirely be a script-writing problem) isn't smart like Superman should be, he's just issuing company lines, like "Halt, I am Superman," and "Are you all right." A lot of that crap. When the only good part of the character comes through when he isn't talking, there's a problem-he looks like an idiot. Routh needs a villain he can dialogue with- the Version of Lex Luthor who believes that he is making the world more perfect with everything he does (read Red Son), or Braniac.
This is why I would love to see Superman and Batman in a live action film together sometime. They have to talk things out to work together, which makes them both more interesting, but they also both know when to shut up and throw down.
SO in short, Routh yes, but not Routh impersonating Chris Reeve. A completely new take on the character, a completely revamped story, written by Mark Millar.

Tom Welling isn't that great either.
I already mentioned how the trilogy should go, Millar writes, Singer directs (after reading more of the comics) and we walk away with one of the best superhero trilogies ever made

Mutant
Bring in Tom Welling, Brandon was not that great.
Doomsday or anything alien that can go up against Superman.
Nolan you've had more than enough time for a vacation, now come back and finish what you've started. I still think Two-Face didn't die, you just made us think he's dead when he isn't.

Im really pleased Routh will be back as Superman/Kent, there's no one better suited out there. I also agree that they need to bring a more bad-ass, super-villain this time, someone who can match Superman and give us some better action. That is where the darker side to this film should come from tho, they cant make the overall tone or superman himself darker... Thats just not Superman!!
