The Green Zone director eyes this larger-than-life project from 20th Century Fox
Fantastic Voyage is going to be shot in 3D, and it will employ the same technologies that Cameron and Jon Landau's Lightstorm made for Avatar. Cameron is also one of the producers on the sci-fi project.
Fox hopes that Fantastic Voyage is a tentpole property. Shane Salerno (Aliens vs. Predator - Requiem) has already signed on to write the screenplay.
The story focuses on "a dying scientist whose only chance for survival rests with five colleagues who are miniaturized and injected into his bloodstream."
The original Fantastic Voyage was directed by Richard Fleischer. It starred Raquel Welch and Donald Pleasence.
Fantastic Voyage is in development . The film is directed by Shawn Levy.

This is a fifties sci-fi "B" movie by definition. I can't fathom how they'll make it less cheasy for a 21st Century Audience.
