Paul Bettany has officially signed onto the upcoming Fox Searchlight drama The Secret Lives of Bees. According to The Hollywood Reporter, fourteen year old Dakota Fanning will play his daughter in the film.

The movie is set in 1960 and follows friends Lily (Fanning) and Rosaleen (Jennifer Hudson) as they flee their small town in search of answers about Lily's late mother. During their journey, they are taken in by three very strange sisters and taught the art of bee keeping.

Gina Prince-Bythewood is directing the film, which also stars Queen Latifah, Alicia Keys, Sophie Okonedo and Tristan Wilds. The film will be released later this year.

The Wild Blue Yonder was released November 18th, 2005 and stars Brad Dourif, Capt. Donald Williams, Dr. Ellen Baker, Franklin Chang-Diaz, Shannon Lucid, Michael McCulley, Roger Diehl, Ted Sweetser. The film is directed by Werner Herzog.
