Patrick Lussier in Talks for Halloween 3D
Variety reports the plan is to have it ready for a summer 2010 release.
Dimension have also tapped Ehren Kruger (The Ring) to adapt Stephen King's short story Children of the Corn into a new movie. The story of a boy preacher who persuades the kids of a Nebraska town to kill all the adults was previously turned into a movie in 1984, and that went on to spawn six sequels.

Halloween 3d: The return of the original Myers.
Lets take a lesson from the original series, every time he is killed the characters believe that he is gone from their lives. I wish that some of these characters would grow a brain to begin with.
What Rob did shouldn't be ignored, it's just his style of what horror films means to him. He just ignored the horror aspect and went a 360 to deepen the character a bit more, he just did too much of it.
These films are not scary any more except the original 2, just imagine an undead killer stalking you for the rest of your life. Sounds creepy doesn't it.
I believe someone like Patrick may do a better job in the long run, to bring back the thriller aspect of what Halloween used to be.
I personally liked the new Friday the 13th, I just wished that they didn't retell the whole series in one story. It had edge, it had corny acting at some points. No I'm not saying they should team up, I'm trying say is that thriller horror has left the world long ago. That's what needs to come back not gore horror which doesn't do a thing for me.
I challenge any good director, even if they are famous or not to try their hand at it. Yes, Ottley I do mean you as well.

3D is going to be the franchise killer the original director killed michael in Halloween 2 hence halloween 3 season of the witch. Zombie killed michael in his version i am afraid that the third installment is going to be along the lines of jason x but this time its going to be michael in space and in icredible Imax 3d. I really cant wait for that :-(

Zombie's Micheal sucks. Original Michael rocks, I have no clue why some people like the new version, Michael isn't that big to begin with nor is he that strong.
deepsky is right, continue with the old franchise, it's a lot better.

Well I guess Michaels legacy is going down the drain!!! :( 3D is just goin to mess this up more! I would like to see them continue where Halloween resurection left out with Michael waking up in the hospital. They should show him goin after Laurie's son and his family! And how about that baby from Halloween the curse of Michael myers? Plus what about Tommy who beated the sh*t out of Michael at the end of that movie u gotta bet michael wants some revenge! But I guess Hollywood would rathers make remakes that are okay but will never live up to the orginals.......

I have always liked Patrick Lussier, why didn't they just use him to begin with it would have been much better than the last two rejects.

Where else is left for this franchise to go? Are they just going to act as if H2 didnt even happen or what?

Thank god Rob Zombie's not making the third. He f*cked up 2 so much not even sure the franchise should servive. Donald Pleasence is probly spinning in his grave for what he did to Dr. Loomis in his piece of sh*t. And I guess he missed his wife, so he put her ghost in every f*cking scene what a piece of crap, artsy, fartsy, does not make for a good horror movie I'm out of this franchise...
