Paranormal Activity director Oren Peli and Paranormal Activity 2 screenwriter Michael R. Perry are teaming up on a TV project entitled The River, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The new series is said to bring the same kind of "found footage" style used in their horror movies to the small screen, with the show revolving around the search for a missing person near the Amazon river. DreamWorks TV and ABC Studios is setting up the project, with a pilot deal close to completion at ABC. The site also revealed that ABC beat out a bid from NBC. Paranormal Activity producers Jason Blum and Steven Schneider will also executive produce the show.
