Paranormal Activity 4 set for release October 19, 2012
Earlier this week, Paramount Pictures confirmed that Paranormal Activity 4 will be released sometime in 2012. Today, the studio issued an October 19, 2012 release date.

As per usual, the sequel is shrouded in secrecy, with no screenwriter or director officially attached as of yet. What we do know is Paranormal Activity 4 will have some stiff competition at the box office on October 19, opening against The Gangster Squad, The Wedding, and the Untitled David Chase Project.

The last installment of this horror franchise, Paranormal Activity 3, took in a massive $52.6 million on its opening weekend, the highest debut in horror history. It ended up grossing more than $200 million worldwide, and was produced on just a $5 million budget.

Paranormal Activity 4 was released October 19th, 2012 and stars Katie Featherston, Kathryn Newton, Matt Shively, Brady Allen, Alisha Boe, Tommy Miranda. The film is directed by Henry Joost, Ariel Schulman.

Hopefully this'll be the last in the franchise; I can't see them making 8 PA films they have to end sometime. I'm excited to see this!

This is ridiculous. I thought the 3rd was not only entertaining, but a good enough close for the story. Adding a fourth one, whatever it's about, just proves that now they're in it solely for the money, which saddens me.

And here is where the decline begins. Just like the Saw franchise, it hit the peak with the 3rd film. From then on, the opening weekends get less and less and less until a slow brutal death.

Or until the next Halloween fad comes around.

I mean what do you expect with a budget of 5 million dollars and making 200 million dollars profit? Wouldnt you milk the cow as well?

F*ck this. I saw the first one and that was enough to not make me wanna see a "horror" movie ever again, much less its two sequels and now a 4th one.

Seriously, bedsheets moving by themselves for an hour and something is not a movie.
