Paranormal Activity 4 confirmed for 2012 release
"In 2012, Paramount's release slate highlights include World War Z, a zombie thriller starring Brad Pitt and directed by Marc Forster, G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation, the next installment in the global franchise starring Dwayne Johnson and Channing Tatum, a new chapter in the Paranormal Activity franchise, and The Dictator, starring Sacha Baron Cohen and directed by Larry Charles, the team behind Borat."
It is not known who will direct Paranormal Activity 4, although since each movie has had a different director, they will likely follow suit with a new director for the sequel. Oren Peli, Jason Blum, and Steven Schneider, who have produced all three movies, will also likely return to produce Paranormal Activity 4.
Paranormal Activity 3, which was released back in October, took in $56 million in U.S. theaters and more than $200 million worldwide. Paranormal Activity 3 arrives on Blu-ray and DVD January 24.
Paranormal Activity 4 comes to theaters October 19th, 2012.

Glad to hear a fourth one is being made, always wanted to know what happened to Demon Katie when she took baby Hunter :) I have an idea for the plot:
They capture Katie and take her to an insane asylum where all this freaky paranormal sh*t starts to happen around her, and then the movie also focuses on Hunter's adoptive parents as they begin to get terrorized by evil demon spirits! It would be pretty cool if they did that.

@daveactor7 None taken. But what horror movies that have been released in the past decade have I said are scary?

I called this a while back. Not that I was making a Nostradamus level prediction or anything, though.

I found the third film to be a step down from the first two, story-wise. It seemed pretty inconsistent with the others, but whether that is from lazy writing or because they have a larger story plotted out that requires more pieces to make sense of remains to be seen. I'm mostly curious as to whether this one will take place between the prequel and the first two movies, or whether it will be set after PA2.

Look, the paranormal activity franchise isn't all about blood and sh*t... It's about the story, the movie experience, and the scares! I expected this 4th movie to come because they still got a lot of explaining to do... The movie is fun, according to corey, because of the movie experience. The first one was like a walk in a haunted house... it's quiet at first but then when you get far... stuff starts to get creepy and scary! The second movie was almost the same... except it has a story... it explained a lot about the first movie... But the third movie was a real roller coaster ride... when it's down... it's really heart pounding and nerve-wracking... When it's up, you jump off your seat and scream till your lungs go small... I LOVE THE PARANORMAL ACTIVITY FRANCHISE AND I THINK THE PEOPLE THAT'S SAYING IT WAS STUPID, IT WAS GARBAGE, OR NOT SCARY ARE LONELY AND KILLJOY PEOPLE.... THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO ENJOY A MOVIE...

@thedude1 The first and second were not that good, but the third one was an excellent achievement. We're all subjected to our own opinions, but these are theater experiences and I can't wait to see how the 4th plays out.
