Paranormal Activity 4 'Audience Reaction' TV Spot
Paramount Pictures has unveiled a new TV spot for Paranormal Activity 4, the latest from directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman. It has essentially become a franchise touchstone to air an "audience reaction" TV spot, with shots of advance screening audiences getting freaked out in the theater. The tradition continues with this latest spot, as you can see in all of its night-vision glory.
Paranormal Activity 4 was released October 19th, 2012 and stars Katie Featherston, Kathryn Newton, Matt Shively, Brady Allen, Alisha Boe, Tommy Miranda. The film is directed by Henry Joost, Ariel Schulman.

That black girl at 0:20 was hillarious! She asked very earnestly, like her boyfriend has the answer; "What was that, what was that?! XD

@corey -- I don't know about that. A lot of people are easy to please/scare, so it's hard to say, at this point. I remember watching "The Green Hornet" in theatres, and people laughed at just about every comical scene. And the movie wasn't even funny.

@skywise true. a sequel, especially releasing it now, or a year or so from now may not be the best idea, financially

@crypt I think the movie did so well beacuse they really kept it under wraps and audiences were intruiged with the what they saw in the preview. i think people were more intruiged with what it was actually all about.

But that'd be sweet if it was a legit sequel, taking place after the first

@skywise I think its cool, but also stupid that it is the same event, but from a different person recording it. We will see. I know I must re-watch the first again. I remember I liked it, just did not see the rave, ya know?

@crypt I have heard the rumors that a Cloverfield sequel is in the works. There is a moment on the bridge where the PPOV charcter films another guy wth a camera who is filming him. It would be interesting to see the same story from another perspective. But i get the feeling they want to expain some things frmo the original.
By the end of the first movie the monster is still on a rampage so perhaps we could see from the militarys POV. Abrams and crew have said that they would not do another unless they had a great script..crossing my fingers on tha tone.

@skywise this is true; i own the DVD. perhaps i should re-watch it. what i think is dumb is that theyre doing a sequel.

@crypt the one thing I will say about Cloverfield is that it took the POV to new heights as far as FX anyway.

@skywise ah, it did not do that for me at all; guess i have a strong stomach! haha

@crypt I thought the Cloverfield concept was very cool and it had some very cool moments but again, the camera work mae me a little dizzy. @bawnian-dexeus

@skywise yeah I understand. I think the studios are overdoing it for sure. beating dead hoarse. but oh well, i will try to enjoy it while it lasts! but i did not care for Cloverfield much

@skywise At least with Cloverfield you saw "more" than other movies

@bawnian-dexeus right, it looks so clean but when it comes to POV's that is what i need.

@crypt I can unerstand why it is appealing to some and I have enjoyed certain POV movies, like Chronical. That was a POV that was done very well. Setting up the characters a experienced camera operators and later the fact that he can move the camera with his mind make for a smooth viewing experience. IMO this is how POV should look. the ultra shake that is so prevailant in these types of movies (while somewhat realistic) tends to turn me off. Cloverfield and even VHS (which I enjoyed made me a little dizzy in some parts.

@skywise I agree, they are made cheaply, but I think the POV adds to the effect. Especially when the camera is off the tripod, and in a character's hand.

@bawnian-dexeus It makes sense that a the series goes on they are learning what works and what doesnt. And as uninterested as I am for part 4, I would have to say that it looks the best (as far as cinematogrophy goes).

@crypt when it comes to these movies I am definatly biased as I said what with the POV handheld. I think the films could have been much more intruiging if they were set up as non POV movies. The POV aspect feels very cheap and indeed the movies were made very cheaply. I think that is why the studios love these because they are cheap to make but rake in major $$$.

@skywise Really? part 2 is my least. I still like it, of course. But it tells the least story, and is the least creepy, and honestly I dont even remember much, even though i watched them all the same day, a month or 2 ago. its weird.

@crypt I found the first to be rather boring but I will say that for what iut was it was originaly. On the other hand I enjoyed the second one much more than the first and 3rd.

@skywise yeah, I mean I'm not trying to make an argument, but I just greatly enjoy the story. See, the first was great because you did not know what it was. When they revealed it was a demon, mentioning childhood, and plus leaving with a cliffhnager like that, they set themselves up for sequels and prequels. yes, part 2 was honestly pretty pointless, but the ending was great, and part 3 was great because it showed what we already partially knew.

@crypt The plots were not very good IMO but the creepy ghost scares were decent. I just never really cared about the characters and the POV/found footage takes away from the story.
I know these movies are very popular and I have seen them all so far but I cant recall the story. I love ghost house movies as you know but I am a little biased with the execution.
I am not trying to be argumentative and when it comes to horror your pretty much my go to guy for those conversations.

@skywise I'm not sure what your prior conversation is, but actually these movies have pretty interesting stories to them, in my opinion
