The way they should do it half "movie" reality mix in the found footage concept and reveal the Beast.
And end it while it is a sucess they should learn from saw and not try to carry it on for 8 or more movies

The horror movies of the 60's and 70's were scary due to the fact that they were mostly the "in your face" type of horror movie. The directors knew how to work the psychological angle as well as the in your face angle of the movies. One good example of this is the "changeling" of the 80's with George C. Scott. It played the psychological angle to the very end and then it got in your face. Today's modern audience is really exposed to blood, carnage etc from a young age so it does not phase them at all. A good horror must blend these two areas in order to be successful as for the "Saw" series they got tired and boring after the third one. Paranormal state was not entertaining or shocking at all the only thing that made it interesting was the way the movie was filmed but again we saw that years ago with blairwitch project which for its day was a ground breaking film. And that was also due to how the director chased the psychological aspect of the movie and knew how to build some sense of fear and urgency to character's dilemma in the movie.

After the Last movie, they should to just leave it alone. It had a lot of good moments, although, the story is that the grandmother made a deal with the devil and the first born male had to be it sacrifice. The story ended with the 2rd movie. I agree that this needs to left alone and make something that will take you by the element of surprise and scare you. The thing about these movies, you already expecting something to happen, the question is what? Now that story has come to a close, move on. I must add they really messed up by adding the alternate ending to the movie for this would seem like that show on TV, and it could have been played off as the real thing. Plus this was much more scary than the Blair Witch, I give that guy credit for doing nothing in the film but show us how bad you can film with a movie camera.

Doesn't matter how many sequels they make, and how strong or weak the story is. This movie on the name alone, will have enough people seeing it, giving them enough profits, and hence more sequels. Saw is a good example of that cycle.

@daveactor7 Of course the Saw movies aren't scary. I believe my point was that it is more scary than PA. Horror movies today in general aren't scary. You have to go back to the horror movies on the 60s and 70s to actually be scared.
