Paranormal Activity 2 Is Slowly Creeping Into Existence

Paranormal Activity 2 Is Slowly Creeping Into Existence Viacom Entertainment CEO Phillippe Dauman said Tuesday that they are moving in on a sequel to this fall's surprise horror hit Paranormal Activity. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Duaman's team is in the trenches trying to figure out the proper way to approach Paranormal Activity 2.

Dauman stated in a Viacom earnings report Tuesday morning that Paranormal Activity was a surprise hit that only comes along very rarely. Yet, the film's success comes from its element of surprise. Which simply won't be there the second time around. Dauman plans to rectify this.

Dauman told analysts, "Our team will come up with the right creative and marketing approach." Oren Peli is unlikely to return as a director, but he is currently rumored to be involved with the producing and writing side of things.

Paranormal Activity was released September 25th, 2009 and stars Katie Featherston, Micah Sloat, Mark Fredrichs, Amber Armstrong, Ashley Palmer, Crystal Cartwright, Randy McDowell, James Piper. The film is directed by Oren Peli.

Paranormal Activity 2 was released October 22nd, 2010 and stars Katie Featherston. The film is directed by Tod Williams.

Ok, so what is ure real job if u spend 6 days a wk paranormally investigating the graveyards of SE TN? "Investigating" doesnt mean sitting on ure pc trolling websites for info either, so what is it u do again?

I think u guys are funny. Getting a hard on when ure a kid cus u saw something or u can feel changes in pheromones. C'mon man. U think cus uve found some orb on a camera we're all gonna get on our knees? If u ever saw a full blown appiration, or something interdimensional, u wouldnt have the first clue how to act.

Btw, I think I have seen u idiots on youtube walking around w/ a hand held camera asking ure team members if they 'feel' or 'see' that. I know some jerkoffs got a tv show on A&E doing that, but u guys just dont cut it.

    Professionals dont post on movieweb.

and also just for the record. In the movie, THEY DID FIND HER. THEY ACTULLY SHOT HER CAUSE SHE RAN AT THEM THINKING THEY WERE HER HUSBAND CAUSE SHE SNAPPED OUT OF THE TRANS. so the sequel wouldnt work like they, it would have to be more like she didnt die so they placed her in a crazy home, she escapes and the cops never find her, so later down ther road she gets married and they move in together and it happines again oinly this time her husband thinks she is crazy and dont wanna do anything about it.. "Read the other comments" for more information on how i think the movie should go.

    Discussion part 2

Also. you could make the movie the same way, as if the couple gets a camera to survailance there home and she notices the shadows and loud thumps on the video / audio recorder. Make it to were the wife buys it. and the husband belives she is crazy. and dont wanna do anything about it. So one night the wife gets possessed again and kills both her children and husband, but instead of stabbing make it more like shooting or maybe slaughter fest. The movie would def. be a sequel. and would have so many earnings. I know it would. If i had the chance to contact the writer and such about this. i belive they would like it. like it alot. so if by some slim chance one of you do see this. get in contact with me threw email "makaveli37686@aol.com" ill get back in contact with you asap :) Hope everyone enjjoys the ideas. and hope to see them in paranormal activity 2!

Dude quit playing around. Just cus u walked in a couple graveyards at night doesnt mean u "do Investigations." Yes, extreme poltergeist activity can happen, but is more rare than u think.

  6. Justinsd

No.. i dissagree with alot of people on here, i actully do paranormal investigations. things like this CAN happine. Now you can call me crazy but i do know for a fact if can happine. I have some AWSOME ideas about paranormal activity 2. It would take a new husband, What would happine is.When the law shot her she didnt die, They place her in a crazy home and she excapes. The law can not find her anywere. A couple years down the road she meets a guy And the law has givin up on finding her thinking she had ran and committed suicide for killing her husband. So "a couple years later" she and the new guy she meets moves in together and get married. Everything is going so great and then one night the paranormal activity starts again. Within the past years of there life she had had 2 kids. Then the movie with all the activity happening goes on again the same way, without the dust and such. Make it were the new husband thinks shes crazy and dont belive her. and at the end, twist it up some. make it to were she gets possessed again, and slaughters both of her children and the husband. and at the very end make it to were you could continue into another paranormal activity 3. So many ideas from my past experiances shoot threw my head. Wish i could speak with whoever was writing this movie. Cause i know i could help them on great ideas. Thanks, Justin Seth.

I didn't see the end, but if Kingbrady is right that the police didn't find her, then that would make a good sequel, years later she got with someone else and the whole thing happens all over again, or she had a sister, or the second one could be a prequel, when they saw that it had happened before to another lady in the 60's (i think). Just a suggestion. But most likely part 2 is gonna be gay, and so is blair witch 3, they just saw that PA was good so now they want to make more money and sh*t out A blair witch 3.

It'll only work with a new setting and people, like kupo said. I like the dog idea and maybe even a child. kids are creepy. But dont go over the top. My gut says let the movie marinate with people first, wait a few years then if audiences want more give them that. But give them what they want, listen to suggestions from people and then approach it carefully. No enourmous budgets and A list actors. Same basic premise just altered. Just my opinion.

  15. kingbrady

lets put this in perspective....its a movie purely based on paranormal activity that has sustained within one female, killing her boyfriend in the process, the police have no located her since, what the f*ck would a sequel do??? unless they make a whole new scenario and have an unrelated sequel to the first with its characters.....now that Hollywood has control over this, it will be $10 million budget and look like sh*t

you know what they could do, they could do an entirely new setting. New house, new people being haunted. completely unrelated to the original but following the same concept with new ideas.

I say they should include a trained dog for the film. I always found it creepy when a pet in the house would stop and react to something that isn't there. Like growling into a dark hallway or whimpering out of fear.

This is just a horrible idea. Some movies just don't need a sequel, success or not.
