Paramount Wants Star Trek 2?
Pressed for spoilers about the upcoming film, Orci announced, "Alright, I can give you a spoiler about the Studio's state of mind (not about the movie itself). The spoiler is that they already want to lock us down to write the sequel. Take that as you will."
He then went on to say, "Unless the studio had a horrible experience with us, they would be trying to lock us down as standard operating procedure. They haven't even seen the movie yet, so this news should not be taken as evidence that we are anything special. It's a quite normal practice."
Star Trek opens May 8th, 2009.
Star Trek was released May 8th, 2009 and stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Leonard Nimoy, Eric Bana, Bruce Greenwood, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg. The film is directed by J.J. Abrams.

its pretty entertaining that since we have started getting all this negative attention on him that pype shows his face more often. and all he does is say things that arent clever enough to offend anyone. we call him out and he shows up every time with guns and no bullets.
its official pype...WE OWN YOU

dude thats bull sh*t and you know it. star wars took place in space, not space.

eh, that may be true, but theres no arguing that star wars takes place in space, whereas star wars took place in space.

i dunno about all that Phat, but star trek definately overshadows star trek

um sirmetro, perhaps you should begin proof reading your comments, haha. but i do agree, there are way more star wars fans as opposed to star wars fans. hands down.

I'll wait until they show me a trailer for Star Trek. My Judgment will be made on a sequel after I watch the movie.

i believe we got more star wars fans as compared to star wars fans.
I am a fan of none of the above, but i believe star trek has been overshadowed by star trek during the past few years.
I hope this will be a turning point for Trek,no more sequels after this coz they are as likely to suck as pyp-homo-bomb.

ok, hows about focusing on the destruction of the first star trek? then we will talk about the demise of any and all sequels

The Kwisatz Haderach
I only really liked the orignal movies, with kirk and spok, now dont get me wrong Im a star wars fan, but I did like the oringal Star Trek, maybe cause kirk got laid and Bones yelled funny one liners about being a doctor not a barber, scott yelled, I givin her all she's got captain. I dont know. anyway the rest suck, never got into the next generations and all that. I am intersted to see a remake with quality special effects of todays day and age. But you have to wait and see if it will actually be good, or suck sweat off the balls of space monkeys.

Never cared for Star Trek either, I'm a Star Wars fan myself.
Having said that, the teaser trailer for the new Trek was quite impressive in its suspensefull brevity.
J.J. Abrams of TV's Alias & Cloverfield fame is a genius and I believe that he will deliver a Star Trek movie that the hardcore fans and casual movie goers will cheer. Too bad that the release date has been pushed back from December '08 to May '09.

This is just too much!!!!!
I never ever been a "Star Trek" fan....I'm more for "Star Wars"...so I could care either way...but, still this is like Re-Making something that already has been done!!! There is nothing new or original that can be done W./"Star Trek"!!
This is nothing more than wanting more money!!! Come on Hollywood...spend the money on something "NEW"!!!

we all know that this film when it comes out will be #1 or by some crazy happening another movie comes along and takes 1st place. its 2 things the movie is gonna end with a ending thats gonna say "ok we gotta have a part 2." and 2nd most of the time the 1st movie is an introduction to everyone. so a 2nd movie will be better (for example: Spider man 2, the matrix reloaded and the dark knight.) either you have star trek love or star wars love. it doesnt matter. its going to entertain us. live long and prosper and may the force be with you. :)

They might as well release 3 or 4 of them all at the same time...that way we all are spared years of trek-sh*t-torture. I'd rather get butt-f*cked by George Lucas than sit thru this bullsh*t.
