Paramount to Develop Two Drug Memoirs as One
Paramount and Plan B plan to combine both memoirs into one movie about a son's addiction to meth and his father's struggles in getting his son off of the drug. Both books were published in February and both became bestsellers, with the elder Sheff's book currently selling in Starbucks locations under their Starbucks Select book series. Starbucks will also be associated with the film production.
Plan B, when it was still under Warner Bros., had also previously had tied to develop A Million Little Pieces, by James Grey. The project was taken off the fast-track when the book became engulfed in controversy after Grey admitted the memoir was fictionalized.
