Paramount Drops David Fincher's Heavy Metal Adaptation
Fincher, Bill Miller of Blur Studios, which is handing the animation and Heavy Metal comic book publisher Kevin Eastman are all pitching the project to other studios after Paramount backed out, citing that the film would be too "risque for mainstream audiences," according to the article.
The film is said to consist of a series of eight to 10 short animated films, some of which are written by Steve Niles ("30 Days of Night"), Joe Hadelman and Neal Asher. Each short will have a different director and Fincher is on board for one of the shorts. Miller believes that the project still will come about.
"David really believes in the project. It's just a matter of time," Miller said.
We'll keep you posted on this film as new information arises.
Heavy Metal comes to theaters in 2013.
