Actors Casey Affleck and Camilla Belle are both in talks to star in Paradise Lost for Legendary Pictures and director Alex Proyas.
Casey Affleck joins the cast of Paradise Lost
Casey Affleck is in talks to portray Gabriel, the angel with six wings who also serves as a messenger to God. Camilla Belle is the top choice to portray Eve, although the deal has not been cemented yet. The story centers on the war between archangels Michael (Benjamin Walker) and Lucifer (Bradley Cooper). Djimon Hounsou also stars as the angel of death, Abdiel.
Alex Proyas will direct from a screenplay which has been worked on by a number of writers. Stuart Hazeldine wrote the primary draft, which was reworked from Byron Willinger and Philip de Blasi's original script. Lawrence Kasdan and Ryan Condal also polished the screenplay. All of these drafts are adapted from John Milton's 17th Century epic poem.
It isn't known when production will start on Paradise Lost.
Paradise Lost is in development and stars Bradley Cooper, Benjamin Walker, Djimon Hounsou, Casey Affleck, Camilla Belle, Callan McAuliffe, Dominic Purcell, Diego Boneta. The film is directed by Alex Proyas.
