Painkiller Jane will not be coming back for a second season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Sci Fi channel has put a kibosh on the action series.

The show, starring Kristanna Loken, is just now wrapping production on its initial twenty-two-episode run. They will all still run as planned. Sixteen of the episodes have aired so far. The series finale is now scheduled for September 21st.

Based on the comic book of the same name, "Jane" centers on top DEA agent Jane Vasco (Loken), a woman with regenerative powers who joins a covert government agency that hunts down "neuros," people with neurological powers.
