Pacific Rim sets a July 12, 2013 release date
Pacific Rim will go up against Grown Ups 2 on July 12, 2013. If it would have stayed in the May 10 release slot, it would have been sandwiched between two highly-anticipated sequels, Iron Man 3 on May 3 and Star Trek 2 on May 17.
300: Battle of Artemisia goes up against the sequels Red 2 and The Smurfs 2.
Pacific Rim comes to theaters July 12th, 2013 and stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Ron Perlman, Charlie Day, Rinko Kikuchi, Diego Klattenhoff, Burn Gorman, Robert Kazinsky. The film is directed by Guillermo del Toro.
300: Rise of an Empire comes to theaters March 7th, 2014 and stars Eva Green, Rodrigo Santoro, Sullivan Stapleton, Mark Killeen, Jack O'Connell, Hans Matheson, Andrew Tiernan, Callan Mulvey. The film is directed by Noam Murro.

SEQUELS CAN BRING BACK THE ACTION- However; they don't always bring back the story. It might be a little confusing to bring back 300 if its not a prequel, so it would have to be one, right? Iron Man, in my opinion took a slight decline when you compare how great the first one was from the second one, so the 3 is a big maybe. I really enjoyed Red, so if they can pull off another great movie then that's good, even though the first one's ending seemed complete to me. Star Trek I'm sure will be worth seeming. Aside, Pacific Rim seems promising. With a solid story, action, and all the other goods, we'll come in numbers! All shields on deck!

@felipe-11 Holy sh*t I didn't see that in here! The Smurfs is going to turn into another Chipmunks franchise full of unneeded sequels.

@ghostman Lol agreed. And I doubt anyone asked for the Smurfs 2 either.

@ghostman@bawnian-dexeus In the fun category, it's surely a 4-4.5. However, in the overall factor: 3-3.5

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx It's not the homoerotic undertones. It was the way they told it. The narrative completely threw it in a pretentious manner. It would've been way better without it.

@ROFLitschristian B+ is a good grade to give 300. It's a solid 3 stars for me. I remember skipping out on school to see this on opening day.

@ROFLitschristian I don't grade in letters, but if it exists, a flat A.

@ROFLitschristian -- Hm, I don't know. I mean, it was pretty damn awesome. Not necessarily a great movie, but it was a lot of fun.
I'll take you were not a fan of the homoerotic undertones?

@ghostman I didn't say I didn't appreciate it. I'm just saying it wasn't phenomenal when it came down to the final cut. It's a solid B+.

@ROFLitschristian You are a Honey Badger with a comment like that :P 300 is a guy's action movie full of testosterone like The Expendables, and Fight Club are. You have to be a man/action buff in order to appreciate this movie :)

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx 300 was good, but I don't think it was what everyone hyped it up to be.

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx@ROFLitschristian
My thoughts on this 300 prequel, I'm not having any high hopes for it, I am a little disappointed with Snyder not returning to direct it, the only thing I hope for is re-capture the awe and amazement in visuals and action.

@ROFLitschristian -- Hopefully. Albeit, "300" was pretty awesome. It will be hard to top it, especially in this day and age, in my opinion.
