James Franco confirmed to star as Oz in Oz: The Great and Powerful
Oz: The Great and Powerful will delve into the origin stories of the classic characters from The Wizard of Oz, such as Oz (James Franco), Glinda the Good Witch of the North, Evanorah, the Wicked Witch of the East, and her sister, Theodorah, the Wicked Witch of the West (Mila Kunis).
Sam Raimi will direct Oz: The Great and Powerful from a screenplay by David Lindsay-Abaire, with Joe Roth producing. It is said that Disney was trying to get the budget down to $200 million, and now it seems they succeeded.
Production will start on Oz: The Great and Powerful in July.
Oz: The Great and Powerful was released March 8th, 2013 and stars James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams, Zach Braff, Bill Cobbs, Joey King, Tony Cox. The film is directed by Sam Raimi.

Franco could work, I guess. Since it is confirmed now, I guess I'll be happy for him. Kunis still seems odd to me. Will she be all green? Lol, just the thought of that cracks me up. She's naturally funny to me, so I'm curious to see how that plays out.
Here's to Raimi, hope he does something good with this and honor the original film.
