The follow-up to the action hit Batman Begins, The Dark Knight reunites director Christopher Nolan and star Christian Bale, who reprises the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne. In the new film, Batman raises the stakes in his war on crime. With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman sets out to dismantle the remaining criminal organizations that plague the city streets. The partnership proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a reign of chaos unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind known to the terrified citizens of Gotham as The Joker.
The Dark Knight opens in theaters on July 18.

Great photos. After seeing a few trailers and TV spots, I'm starting to be convinced that Heath Ledger will be a better "Joker" than Jack Nicholson. I don't know why, but I think this one won't get as good of reviews by the critics as "Batman Begins" did. Me I believe that it will surpass "Begins" by a landslide. I just have these wierd predictions.

I'm really looking forward to this. Batman Returns was the only movie based on a DC Comics character that didn't suck (varying degrees of suck, of course) and playing up the crazed psychopath bit, rather than a campy, customed clad harlequin for the Joker is pure win.
