Screenwriter Simon Kinberg (Mr. and Mrs. Smith) has been brought in to polish the screenplay for Ouija.

We reported in April that Evan Spiliotopoulos was hired to rewrite the original Ouija screenplay by Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis (Tron: Legacy). Our report from April indicated Ouija would center on a family, and the project was compared to The Mummy and Indiana Jones.

McG is directing Ouija, with Brian Goldner and Bennett Schneir producing for Hasbro, and Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Bradley Fuller producing for Platinum Dunes.

No production schedule was given for Ouija. Simon Kinberg also produced X-Men: First Class, which is currently playing in theaters.

Ouija comes to theaters in 2013.
