Oscar Winning Crash in Production for T.V. Series!

Lionsgate has teamed up with the Starz network to produce a 13-episode, one-hour series that will exclusively be played on the Starz channel. According to Variety, director, co-writer and producer Paul Haggis will be aboard for the Starz network first original drama series.

Other members from the original Crash crew to be involved with the Starz project are co-writer and producer Bobby Moresco, producer Bob Yari, producer Don Cheadle, producer Mark R. Harris and executive producer Tom Nunan. No word has been given on whether Sandra Bullock, Matt Dillon, Jennifer Esposito, Brendan Fraser, Terrence Howard, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Thandie Newton and Ryan Philippe will join the cast of the anticipated dramatic television series.

Production for the Crash television series is scheduled to start in the spring of 2008.

Crash was released May 6th, 2005 and stars Karina Arroyave, Dato Bakhtadze, Sandra Bullock, Don Cheadle, Art Chudabala, Sean Cory, Tony Danza, Keith David. The film is directed by Paul Haggis.

    What a terrible idea. If you look at Paul Haggis' career, you'll see that everything he touches in the world in TV totally sucks. But I guess when Clint Eastwood thinks you're cool, that pretty much makes you bulletproof.

    This is old news. They announced that a series was in the works for television right after they won the Oscar for Best Picture. Took them this long to sign a deal?

    Well, I can't say I'm expecting much. The nature of the film may translate to great intimate stories on the small screen. Hopefully good comes from this.
