Oprah Winfrey Joins The Princess and the Frog

We were recently on hand at the Walt Disney Showcase at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood today and there was a big announcement at the event. John Lassetter, the chief creative officer for Pixar Studios and Walt Disney Animation Studios announced that Oprah Winfrey has signed on to voice a role in The Princess and the Frog.

Winfrey will voice the role of Eudora, the mother of the lead character, Princess Tiana, which will be voiced by Anika Noni Rose.

The jazz-fueled musical will be written and directed by John Musker and Ron Clements and will be set in New Orleans, revolving around a young princess living in the French Quarter.

The film is slated for a late 2009 release.

The Princess and the Frog was released December 11th, 2009 and stars Anika Noni Rose, Bruno Campos, Keith David, Michael-Leon Wooley, Jennifer Cody, Jim Cummings, Peter Bartlett, Jenifer Lewis. The film is directed by Ron Clements, John Musker.

    What a f*cking joke. If she can't act in person, I doubt she can be convincing through a microphone. She'll probably have them do script changes so there's more Oprah. Also, change her character's name to Oprah now, because she'd love it, and that's all anyone will think of.
