Nate Parker joins Spike Lee's Oldboy remake
Red Hook Summer star Nate Parker is in talks to reunite with director Spike Lee for his remake of Oldboy.

Josh Brolin stars as a man who was imprisoned and tortured for over a decade before his unexpected release. Nate Parker will portray a doctor who works with Josh Brolin's character. Elizabeth Olsen, Sharlto Copley, and Samuel L. Jackson also star.

Spike Lee is directing from a screenplay by Mark Protosevich (Thor, I Am Legend), based on the original Korean film Oldboy, directed by Chan-wook Park. Production is scheduled to begin this fall in New York and Louisiana.

Nate Parker can next be seen in Arbitrage alongside Richard Gere, Tim Roth, and Susan Sarandon, opening in theaters September 14.

Oldboy comes to theaters October 11th, 2013 and stars Samuel L. Jackson, Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, Sharlto Copley, Lance Reddick, Michael Imperioli, James Ransone, Richard Portnow. The film is directed by Spike Lee.
