Octavia Spencer joins Baggage Claim
We reported in May that Paula Patton will star as Montana Moore, a single flight attendant who is the oldest, unmarried woman in her family. She goes on a cross-country trek to find a husband in 30 days, before her younger sister gets hitched. No details were given regarding Octavia Spencer's character. Derek Luke is also starring in an unspecified role.
David E. Talbert (First Sunday) is directing from his own screenplay, which he adapted from his novel of the same name. Production is slated to begin in September.
Since winning an Oscar for her supporting performance in The Help, Octavia Spencer has shot the thriller Snow Piercer with Chris Evans and Tilda Swinton, and the Untitled Diablo Cody Project with Julianne Hough and Russell Brand.
Baggage Claim comes to theaters September 27th, 2013 and stars Paula Patton, Adam Brody, Djimon Hounsou, Lauren London, Christina Milian, Taye Diggs, Derek Luke, Tia Mowry. The film is directed by David E. Talbert.
